Making your Vegan waffles (or pancakes)


There are many different types of waffle irons, but one bag usually

makes about 12-14 waffles.

For Waffles

  • 1 package Waffle Social Club Vegan Overnight Waffle mix

  • 3 cups almond, soy, or coconut-based milk

  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil

  • 1 tsp vanilla

For Pancakes

Same as above with these exceptions:

  • add 2 tsp Baking Powder to your dry mix

  • Reduce oil to 1/3 cup

Directions: The night before

  1. Empty the dry contents into a large mixing bowl.

  2. Pour the milk, oil, & vanilla into the dry mix and stir until blended.

  3. Cover mixture with plastic wrap or loose fitting lid.  

Batter needs to rise for at least 8 hours at room temperature! You can let it rise in the fridge, but it will take longer.


Directions: The next morning

  1. Plug in your waffle iron and allow to heat to its hottest setting (if adjustable).

  2. Before starting, use a small amount of vegetable oil or veggie oil spray, give the waffle iron a spritz and then close it for 1 minute before adding your batter.  Wipe away excess with a paper towel.  Only need this before the 1st waffle.

  3. Waffle irons vary greatly in power & heat levels, but generally the waffles take from 3-3.5 minutes to cook perfectly.  Like them more crunchy?  Let 'em cook a little longer.

  4. For the best waffles, enjoy immediately!  Don't be a stacker - these delicate creatures will only hold their full magical powers for a couple of minutes after cooking.  Stacking will turn them soggy so use a cooling rack if you must wait.  But don't wait - EAT THEM!
